Coach's Bio

SEKOU COX

Born in Trinidad, Coach Sekou immigrated to the United States in 2001 to attend Columbia University. He played soccer for the Lions, lettering all four years. He was also selected to the All-Ivy Team twice. In addition to his collegiate career, he has played for the Greek American Atlas in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League.

Coach Sekou has extensive experience working with children. He is currently a teacher in the New York City public school system. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Literate Africa Project, a non-profit organization that partners with 71 Ghanaian schools. He is CPR/AED certified.
